Week 6 Reflection: Growing Stronger, Bit by Bit 🌱📚
Friday, February 13, 2026
Week 6 is here!
And when I look back, I can honestly say — it was a fruitful week. Busy, loud, sometimes messy, but the learning is starting to feel stronger and more intentional. Alhamdulillah 🤍.
3Z – Adjust, Support, Celebrate ✍️
For 3Z, we did a lot of work on sentence building using last week’s lesson as the foundation. Of course, everything still needed guidance — but I can see the structure forming 🧠✨.
They are still my naughty bunch 😂. Some boys can be quite unruly, huhu. But this week, the teacher tried something new.
I separated six lower proficiency learners to sit at a special table near me 👀. I reduced their task — they only needed to complete half of it. The goal was simple: reduce cognitive overload and let them taste success.
And you know what?
✨ They finished.
✨ They felt proud.
✨ I felt relieved.
For easier tasks like reading and identifying main ideas, I made it more challenging for everyone by asking them to draw the characters’ preferences 🎨. Originally, they needed to draw two — but since it was manageable, I pushed them to complete all four.
I also checked their books carefully and managed to select 11 books for a classroom gallery walk 🚶♀️📘. I asked them to observe their friends’ handwriting, neatness, and how they took care of their books.
I really hope this inspires others.
I want more learners to say, “Teacher, next time choose my book!” 🌟
5B – Thinking Deeper 🧩
For 5B, we moved further into reading and extracting main ideas.
This was done as a whole-class activity, but in the future, I am dreaming of turning it into a jigsaw task 🧠 — where each group becomes an expert in one paragraph and then presents it to others. One day, in shaa Allah.
For now, I guided them through a mind map, asking questions about main ideas and pronouns 📝. They responded quite well.
Then the lesson became more active — they interviewed three friends about their preferences and collected the data 🎤. After the holidays, I hope to turn this into three coherent paragraphs.
We are building towards it. Step by step 🚶♀️.
2Z – Victory to H! 🔤🎉
For 2Z, 18 out of 28 learners managed to complete their work until the sound H.
I felt SO successful 🥹✨.
Trying to get them to pose nicely for a celebration photo almost broke me 😅, but in the end — we did it! Victory photo secured 📸.
I also messaged their parents to share the achievement. I hope they will praise their children and continue motivating them at home 🤍. School and parents must walk together.
Beyond the Classroom – Wearing More Hats 🎩
This week, the teacher was not only teaching.
I had the opportunity to be the speaker for our PLC session, leading a teacher-sharing session and scheduling learning walks with four subject panels 🤝📋. The session felt light, relaxed, and friendly — but at the same time, we made real progress. My favourite kind of professional conversation ✨.
And hehe, I also need to record that for the Week 5 PLC, I served as the Gemini Coach ♊💛. I did nothing much, but it was nice to be acknowledged.
On top of that, I became the MC for the school’s parent–teacher meeting 🎤. Such a good experience for me, even though… I mispronounced some names 😭.
Lesson learned: this is what happens when I don’t overprepare!
Next time → rehearse more ✔️.
Still, I am proud I stepped up. Growth sometimes comes with small embarrassments, and I wish it were okay, but it did bother me a little. 🤍
Teacher Reflection🌷
Overall, for teaching and learning, this week I felt stronger.
I can feel myself being more aware of where each language skill fits — reading, writing, listening, speaking. The lessons are slowly becoming more organised, more purposeful.
There are still challenges. Noise. Energy. Different levels. Limited time.
But there is also growth 🌱.
Alhamdulillah.
Allahu Akbar 🤍.
When future me reads this, I hope she will smile and say:
✨ That was the week I adjusted my support better.
✨ That was the week I dared to lead.
✨ That was the week I kept going even when it was hard.
And teacher — it shows 💛.
