Today’s Apple Teacher Portfolio Explore 1 lesson was all about combining creativity 🖌️, technology 💻, and language ✍️. The task? Writing an email to a friend, inviting them to visit our hometown 🏡🌊. But before my learners could write confidently, they needed a strong grip on new vocabulary.

So here’s what we did:

1️⃣ First, learners identified 3 target vocabulary words using the dictionary 📖.

2️⃣ Then, they thought about how to show the meaning through drawings. 🎨💡

3️⃣ Instead of struggling with paper and pencils ✏️ (and lots of erasing 😅), we used Keynote! Learners explored the shapes and colours to create quick, clear drawings that represented their chosen words. 🟦🔺🟢

4️⃣ Next, they exported their pictures and inserted them into Clips 🎥.

5️⃣ With Clips, they added Live Titles 🗣️✨—a fantastic feature that displayed words while they spoke, helping them practise pronunciation + spelling at the same time.

🌟 By the end of the lesson, learners had mini vocabulary videos showcasing their drawings and words! They demonstrated their learning not just by writing definitions, but by visualising, creating, compiling, and speaking.

This activity engaged their visual intelligence 🧠👀, which makes vocabulary easier to remember and “stickier.” 🍯 Plus, technology made the process smoother and faster—no messy erasers or wasted time. Learners could focus more on learning and less on the struggle. 💪📱

It was so fun to watch them light up with pride when their Clips came together. 🎉 I truly believe these small steps with technology build confidence, creativity, and language skills that will last. 💕

Hey everyone! 🌞

Today’s class was sooo much fun! We explored our hometowns using the Maps app on iPad 🧭📍 and it turned out to be such a cool learning adventure. ✨

The main goal? To help my learners write better emails to a friend 💌—but with real details about their hometowns! First, they had to find their hometown on the map, spot interesting places to visit, and check out what’s around using the app’s features. 🏞️🏙️⛱️

Once they got the hang of it, they started noticing things like:

✔️ Where things are located

✔️ What’s nearby

✔️ The roads, rivers, mountains, beaches—you name it! 🌊⛰️🚗

All of this helped them add juicy details to their writing. Instead of guessing, they could now say exactly where and what something is. 🙌 It made their emails feel more real, and that made them write with more confidence 💪✍️

Plus, let’s be honest—navigating the app took a bit of tech courage! 😅 But they did it! And now they know how to use Maps not just for school, but for everyday life too. 🧑‍💻📱

Hi everyone! 👋

Today, I introduced my learners to something new—Pages on iPad—but with a twist! Instead of the usual text-heavy documents, we explored the power of graphic organisers, thanks to Apple’s ready-made templates.

At first, many of my students thought Pages was just for long essays or formal writing. But today, they discovered how versatile it can be. With the help of the built-in graphic organiser templates, learners were able to visualise their ideas, check the flow of their thoughts, and decide whether their information was relevant to the task.

For this session, we used the Hamburger Paragraph—and upgraded it to a Hamburger Essay! 🍔✨ This structure helped learners build a solid outline for their writing task, especially for crafting an invitation. Each “layer” of the burger became a part of their essay: the top bun for the introduction, the fillings for supporting details, and the bottom bun for a strong conclusion.

Students demonstrated their understanding by filling in the organiser based on the information they had gathered. It was a joy to see them gaining confidence, knowing they had a clear structure to guide them. Most importantly, they realised that writing doesn’t have to be overwhelming when you have the right tools at hand.

This experience really highlighted how technology—when used with purpose—can unlock new ways for learners to organise, express, and enjoy their writing process. And for me? Another proud teacher moment. 🥰

I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share that I’ve officially begun my journey with the Apple Teacher Portfolio! As someone who’s always looking for creative ways to engage learners, this feels like the perfect next step in my teaching adventure.

I just completed my first task, and like any good first step, it came with its fair share of a-ha moments and tech hurdles. My takeaway? Technology can both excite and scare us—and that’s perfectly okay.

During this first activity, I explored how using the Notes app on iPad can transform a mundane task like writing into something more dynamic and enjoyable for learners. With Notes, students can write, draw, copy, and organise their work with ease. Unlike paper, there’s no need to erase and rewrite; changes are smooth and intuitive. Plus, it gets the job done faster—always a bonus in a busy classroom!

But let’s be honest—before the magic happens, there’s one big hurdle: tech confidence. Teachers need to teach how to use the tool, and that can feel daunting for both teachers and students. That was definitely the “scary” part. 😅

Still, once the foundation is laid, the fun begins. The Notes app can be seamlessly integrated into all kinds of lessons—brainstorming, journaling, even organising writing ideas for ESL learners (like my Year 6 students!). It brings a level of creativity and clarity that paper sometimes can’t.

So here I am—one task down, more to go, and feeling optimistic. With each step, I’m learning not just how to use Apple tools effectively, but also how to embrace the joy of exploring new teaching possibilities, even if they start with a bit of fear.

Hi again, lovely readers! 🍎

Today, I checked off another fun and creative lesson from the Apple Education Learning Center as part of my Apple Teacher journey—Animate with Stop Motion! And let me tell you… I had a blast! 🤩

The activity taught me how to use everyday objects to tell stories through stop-motion animation. I immediately thought of my quirky little character Perky Piung—of course, I had to try animating her! 🐣✨

🛠️ What I Did:

✅ Set up a basic stop motion scene

✅ Captured images step by step

✅ Used Keynote (yay, previous lesson skills!) to add motion graphics and finesse it all together

Okay, okay… the animation turned out a little jerky 😅 but you know what? I did it! Thanks for my daughter who did the voice over in one of the slides. And that’s what matters. 🎉

💡 What I Learned:

This project reminded me that creativity is often a work in progress. With more time, I know I could plan a storyboard, shoot more carefully, and create a much smoother and more coherent story. But even in a rush, I was able to bring my ideas to life—and that’s powerful! 🧠💥

I recently explored the “Make Photo Text Art” lesson on the Apple Education Learning Center, and I just had to share how much I enjoyed it! It was such a smooth and inspiring experience, and best of all—it sparked so many creative ideas I can bring into my classroom. ✨

📚 This mini-course helped me:

✅ Understand how to choose interesting textures to photograph

✅ Use the iPad camera to take high-quality close-up shots

✅ Get creative with Keynote to turn those textures into text art!

The steps were very easy to follow, and the activity was so engaging. I really liked how everything was hands-on and practical. It didn’t feel like a tutorial—it felt like play! 🎨📲

💡 How I’ll Use This in My Classroom:

As a teacher, I’m always looking for new ways to bring creativity into my lessons. This activity gave me a simple but powerful tool to help my students:

🧠 Develop visual literacy

✏️ Improve language skills

📷 Connect their learning to the real world

I can’t wait to use this in my class presentations and encourage my students to try it too. Imagine vocabulary words filled with textures from nature, classroom objects, or even their own artwork! 🌿🪵✂️ It’ll make our slides and learning materials so much more visually rich and personal.

This week, I tried something totally new—and surprisingly fun—thanks to the Apple Education Community’s Learning Center. I followed the “Make a Motion Graphic” tutorial using Keynote for iPad, and let me just say: I LOVED it.

What I learned along the way:

• How to draw directly in Keynote on my iPad

• How to animate those drawings with smooth movements

• And finally, how to export the animation into a short movie clip

The tutorial made everything feel doable, and I picked up some pretty cool skills without feeling overwhelmed. My little animation might not win any design awards, but I’m genuinely proud of what I created. Haha watch my duck going through the rough waves!! Most importantly, I now feel more confident to try again—with better drawings next time!

If you’re curious about motion graphics or want to help your students express ideas in a fresh, visual way, I highly recommend giving this a try. 🎨

I’m so excited that I’ve officially earned my Apple Teacher recognition! 🎉 After completing six badges for iPad and six badges for Mac, I received my Apple Teacher certificate, and it feels amazing to be part of this inspiring community of educators.

Each badge taught me something new, from creative ways to use apps like Keynote and GarageBand to practical tips for classroom productivity and student engagement. It was hands-on, encouraging, and full of “Oh wow, I didn’t know I could do that!” moments.

And I’m not stopping there!

Right now, I’m working on building my Apple Teacher Portfolio to further enhance my skills. It’s a great way to reflect on what I’ve learned so far and explore how I can bring more creativity and tech-savvy tools into my lessons. I’m doing this to familiarise myself with Apple products and to find meaningful, engaging ways to integrate them into my teaching.

I genuinely believe that with the right tools and a little curiosity, we can make learning more dynamic, fun, and accessible for our students. I’m excited for what’s next—and I’d definitely encourage other educators to check out the Apple Teacher program too!
