Week 11 Reflection: From Raya Mode to Reality ๐ŸŒ™➡️๐Ÿ“š

 Week 11 is here!

The holidays were so good ๐Ÿค. My Eid celebration lasted for a whole week, and honestly… I still can’t get enough of ketupat and rendang ๐Ÿคค✨.

Coming back to work?

๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ Not easy.

The shift from Raya mode to teacher mode was real. But Alhamdulillah, praise to the Lord of the Worlds ๐Ÿค — I made it through my first day, full of teaching, and surprisingly… no zombie mode! ๐Ÿ’ช✨

3Z – Reading, Drawing & Rhythm

 ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽถ

With 3Z, I started simple.

They read and copied a short paragraph about Eid, then I asked them to draw what they understood from the text ๐Ÿ–️. And masyaAllah, their drawings were so cute ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’›. It’s always nice to see understanding come out in pictures.

For music ๐ŸŽถ, I introduced castanets and had them play according to the beat. Some were shy at first, but I managed to get a few brave volunteers ๐Ÿ‘✨. Small wins, but meaningful ones.

2Z – Back to Basics (Again!)

 ๐Ÿ”ค

For 2Z, I planned quite a lot ๐Ÿ˜… — three short activities before moving into copying and drawing.

Reality?

I only managed to complete one ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ.

I felt frustrated at first because I thought I had already broken the lesson into smaller, manageable parts. But then I realised… it still wasn’t simple enough.

For them, I need to go even more basic:

๐Ÿ‘‰ say and repeat

๐Ÿ‘‰ clear, short, direct

And that’s okay.

We adjust. We try again. Maybe next lesson ๐ŸŒฑ.

5B – Smooth Flow, Slow Pace

 ๐Ÿงฉ

For 5B, the lesson itself went smoothly ✨. But when it came to group work, they are still quite slow in managing themselves.

I assigned homework, thinking they would complete it…

…but the next two days:

๐Ÿ˜… many still didn’t finish.

Sabar, teacher. We build habits slowly.

Midweek Pause & Thursday Reality

 ๐ŸŒง️

I was on leave for Tuesday and Wednesday for personal reasons, and when I came back on Thursday…

๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ full zombie mode.

I had a cough, runny nose, and was sneezing the whole time ๐Ÿคง. Not my best teaching day, honestly.

But…

✨ I managed to fix a new skirting for my class table!

Hahaha, small achievement, but still an achievement okay ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’›.

Teacher Reflection

 ๐ŸŒท

This week reminded me of something important:

After a break, we don’t just continue —

we re-adjust.

The learners need time.

The teacher also needs time.

Some lessons will not go as planned.

Some days we will feel strong.

Some days we will feel like a walking tissue box ๐Ÿคง๐Ÿ˜‚.

But we still show up.

Alhamdulillah for the strength to return, to try again, and to keep going ๐Ÿค✨.
