Puppet Play!

Friday, July 15, 2011

We did an interesting session with puppets this week. We use farm animal puppets such as duck, rooster, chick, rabbit, goat, sheep and cow.

The activities were conducted as follows:

1. Pupils form a group of 5.
2. Pupils write out 5 sentences based on the farm animal puppet.
3. Teacher gave 20 minutes to work out the task.
4. Pupils were required to present their work by saying outloud their sentences and make the sound of the animal.

The session lasted for 30 mins lesson. As for the weaker class, the activities varies slightly in the sentence construction as they only need to fill in the blanks and practice one by one in their group. Furthermore, the sentences were based on past lesson which I blogged earlier.

As for 5T, I did not managed to take videos as I dont have the handycam with me. However, 5B presentation were captured and some are funny and witty. Pupils managed to say out loud the sentences they made, although there were some errors but still the meaning conveyed. Some did sing, writing their own lyrics in 20 mins, singing to the tune of Old Mcdonald.
