Alhamdulillah. I’m grateful to share that I’ve officially earned my Apple Learning Coach badge. This journey challenged me to slow down, rethink coaching, and truly focus on what matters most—supporting teachers with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

From unlearning old habits to embracing simplicity, collaboration, and joy in professional learning, every unit shaped how I now approach coaching. I’m excited to continue walking alongside teachers, helping them feel confident and creative with technology—one meaningful step at a time.

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but…

I’ve completed all six units of the Apple Learning Coach program!

Now I’m waiting (nervously and excitedly!) for my ALC confirmation. 🤞✨

Unit 6 was the final test — the moment where theory, practice, personas, coaching cycles, tech integration, and my own philosophy all collided in one big reflective task. And it pushed me harder than I expected.

🌱 Unit 6: Where Coaching Becomes Real

Unit 6 required me to design a realistic coaching scenario from scratch — one that could actually happen in my school. This meant imagining a teacher’s personality, strengths, challenges, and even the profile of their students. That became the heart of my learning.

⭐ My Scenario:

Mr Firdaus — The Adventurer Teacher

Here’s the scenario I created:

Teacher: Mr Firdaus, Year 2 English Teacher

Persona: The Adventurer — technically skilled, always excited about new apps, loves exploring features

Teacher Tech Skill: High

Student Tech Skill: Very low

Student Background:

• low English proficiency

• easily overwhelmed

• BUT very creative and confident in drawing

  Teaching Goal: Students introducing themselves (“My name is…”, “I like…”)

💥 The Core Coaching Challenge

Because he’s an Adventurer, Mr Firdaus naturally gravitates toward complex, multi-step apps like iMovie or Clips with advanced features. But his Year 2 students simply cannot manage multi-layer editing — the cognitive load would drown out the actual English objective.

I realised:

The biggest risk wasn’t the teacher’s skill.

It was the mismatch between his ambition and the students’ capacity.

So my coaching goal became:

💡 Coach’s Goal

To guide Mr. Firdaus during the Inquire stage so he understands the non-negotiable constraint:

“Your students need the simplest tool possible so they can focus on language, not technology.”

 

This meant:

• shifting him away from complex apps

• suggesting a simple, one-step tool like Camera app or Photo Booth

• or combining drawing + voice recording, since drawing is their strength

This was the biggest revelation:

Sometimes, the most creative teaching is choosing the simplest tech.

🔍 Why This Scenario Changed Me as a Coach

This imaginary coaching scenario taught me something deep about myself:

I realised that my instinct as a coach is to help teachers slow down, simplify, and choose tools that help—not overwhelm.

Unit 6 showed me how crucial the Inquire stage is:

• define student constraints

• define tech readiness

• identify teacher personality

• set the real goal

• and protect the lesson objective from accidental over-complication

This aligns perfectly with something I said in my coaching introduction video:

“When teachers feel supported and confident, professional learning becomes personal, joyful, and lasting.”

 

Now, I see exactly how to make that happen.

🛠 Returning to Units 2, 3, and 4 — My Apple Coaching Foundations

To complete Unit 6, I had to revisit Units 2, 3, and 4 — and thank goodness I did.

These units were the backbone of everything:

Unit 2 Coaching Philosophy

I built my philosophy around empathy, listening, trust, and simplicity.

Unit 3 Practice and Role-Play

This unit trained me to stay calm, focused, and ready for unexpected challenges.

Unit 4 Coaching Plans

This was the tough one — detailed, structured, overwhelming at times.

But it taught me to unlearn my “old coaching ways” and embrace the Apple coaching framework.

Together, these units made Unit 6 possible.

🎨 The Freeform Journey — My 8-Year-Old Drawing 😂

Unit 5 made me express my coaching philosophy visually.

Let me tell you: Freeform humbled me.

Three drafts.

Many erasers.

Deep sighs.

Laughs.

Then finally… a drawing that looks like an 8-year-old made it — but one that I love 💛

It captured exactly what matters to me:

• listening

• trust

• walking beside teachers

• valuing their personality

• honouring their pace

• and keeping tech joyful

Even though the drawing looked childlike, it represented my heart.

Throughout the course, I created:

• a professional learning infographic (Keynote)

• a coaching cycle infographic with text masking (Keynote)

• a coach introduction video (iMovie + Keynote transitions + Pages teleprompter)

• a Freeform coaching philosophy drawing

• reflective writing

• coaching cycles

• action plans

• persona-driven coaching scenarios

This journey was not just academic.

It was creative, meaningful, and transformative.

🌟 The Coach I Am Becoming

After six units, I now see myself as a coach who:

• listens first

• respects teacher personality

• simplifies tech intentionally

• connects tools to classroom reality

• helps teachers feel braver, not busier

• celebrates small wins with big heart

• and believes deeply in joyful learning

Unit 6 taught me to:

• prioritize simplicity

• honour constraints

• balance conversation with instruction

• and plan with precision

🎉 Final Thoughts — And What’s Next

Finishing the program feels surreal.

It has stretched, challenged, humbled, and empowered me.

The biggest thing I’m taking away?

Coaching is not about teaching tools.

It’s about teaching confidence and clarity.

 

Now I wait for my confirmation as an Apple Learning Coach…

Whatever happens, I already feel proud of this journey.

Last Friday, I wrapped up Unit 5 of my Apple Learning Coach journey — and let me tell you, this unit was a rollercoaster of learning, reflection, and creativity. 🎢✨

Unit 5 was all about planning: timelines, evidence of success, refining goals, evaluating samples, thinking deeply about the coaching cycle… semua ada!

And honestly, it stretched me more than I expected. 😅

🌱 The Tough Parts

This unit was challenging because the coaching planning suddenly became very detailed.

I found myself rereading sections, getting lost in terms, and having to pause just to digest the steps.

At one point, I realised:

“If I really want to understand Unit 5, I need to revisit Units 2, 3, and 4.”

So that’s what I did.

I went back to:

• Unit 2 → coaching cycle

• Unit 3 → coaching strategies & reflection

• Unit 4 → refining goals and planning

Only then did everything click.

It was like Apple was slowly preparing me to think the Apple coaching way, and Unit 5 was the moment everything stitched together.

It was tough — but also the unit that helped me unlearn and relearn the most.

💛 Rediscovering My Coaching Philosophy

Revisiting my coaching philosophy was another highlight. Mine is centred on empathy, trust, and walking beside teachers — not leading from the front.

✨ I listen first.

✨ I build rapport.

✨ I connect tech to what teachers already do.

✨ I want coaching to feel joyful, personal, and meaningful.

And Unit 5 forced me to express this philosophy through a Coaching Philosophy in Action Project.

🎨 The Freeform Adventure I Did Not Sign Up For 😂

Ahhh Freeform…

When I saw the instruction to “showcase your coaching philosophy using photo, drawing, video, or music,” I confidently chose drawing.

…Until I started drawing.

And suddenly I was an 8-year-old again. HAHAHA. 🤣🎨

I made three full drafts.

All messy. All confusing. All very “I’m trying my best, okay??” energy. 😭

I reset colours.

I rearranged shapes.

I erased and redrew.

I tried switching styles — cute, clean, Gen-Z aesthetic… nothing worked.

In the end, I submitted the version that felt the most me,

even if it looked like it came straight out of a cheerful Year 2 sketchbook. 😆💛

But it represented my heart:

✨ Trust

✨ Empathy

✨ Listening

✨ Confidence-building

✨ Joy in learning

✨ Walking beside teachers

Perfect? No.

Authentic? Yes.

And that’s enough.

📅 The Bigger Picture

Unit 5 helped me realise:

• Coaching is structured and intentional.

• Timelines matter because teachers are just as busy as I am.

• Evidence matters because growth needs to be visible.

• Reflection keeps the coaching cycle grounded.

• And listening ALWAYS comes first.

It’s one of the units that shaped me the most — not just as a coach, but as a colleague and a reflective practitioner.

I’m stepping into Unit 6 with:

✨ A clearer mind

✨ A stronger foundation

✨ More confidence

✨ A slightly improved Freeform skillset (maybe 😆)

Today, I officially completed Unit 4 of my Apple Learning Coach journey — and honestly, this one felt different. It felt like everything from Units 1, 2, and 3 suddenly clicked into place. 💡

Unit 4 wasn’t just about learning anymore — it was about designing, planning, and shaping who I am as a coach.

🌱 A Unit That Pulled Everything Together

What I loved most about Unit 4 was how it kept reinforcing the essentials — the coaching cycle, the coaching philosophy, and the Everyone Can Create approach. Each time these elements reappeared, I felt a little more at ease. The repetition didn’t bore me; it grounded me.

It reminded me that coaching is not about perfection — it’s about clarity, intention, and humanity. And, most importantly, it reminded me why I started this journey:

🎨 Finding My “Coaching Philosophy in Action”

In this unit, we had to start brainstorming ideas for our Coaching Philosophy in Action project.

For me, the idea that stood out the most was exploring Keynote animations — something I’m still a beginner at, but absolutely love learning.

It’s fun, visual, expressive, and honestly? It makes me feel young again. 😄

And I want the teachers I coach to feel that same spark of joy.

I realised that my philosophy naturally shapes the kind of coach I want to be:

✨ Empathetic — meeting teachers where they are

✨ Practical — sharing workflows, resources, and baby steps

✨ Supportive — through demo lessons, co-teaching, and check-ins

✨ Reflective — always learning with the people I coach

Not imposing. Not overwhelming.

Just walking together.

🧭 Crafting My Coaching Timeline

This unit also pushed me to draft my first coaching timeline — something that used to scare me 😅 but now feels doable.

I built it around:

• Weekly check-ins 🗓️

• Bi-weekly one-on-one support 👩🏻‍🏫

• Monthly creative workshops 🎉

Linking it back to Unit 2’s Action Plan and Unit 3’s coaching reflections made everything feel connected — almost like I’m building my own personalised coaching system.

💛 The Heart of It All

When I stepped into this course, I thought it was purely about edtech.

But Unit 4 reminded me again and again:

Coaching is human work.

It’s about trust, pacing, confidence, and connection.

Technology is just a tool.

People are the purpose. 💛

Unit 3 of my Apple Learning Coach journey was such a joyful ride! 🌈 It was a full-day live workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., packed with energy, creativity, and collaboration. 🎨🤝 Teachers from all over Malaysia 🇲🇾 came together — each with their own ideas, styles, and sparkle! ✨ Everyone was so professional, punctual, and on task. Many were young teachers, and their enthusiasm was absolutely contagious — I honestly felt younger too! 😆💪

The focus of this unit was bringing the Inquire–Plan–Act cycle to life 🎯 — not just in theory, but in real, hands-on coaching experiences. 💬💡 We brainstormed, shared, built, reflected, and laughed through every activity. Moving between groups gave me new insights into how coaching can look and feel different — yet equally powerful — for every teacher. 🌻

More than anything, Unit 3 reminded me of why I love coaching. 💖 Just like I said in my introductory video 🎥 — coaching is about walking beside teachers, not leading from the front. 👣 When we listen first 👂, understand their needs ❤️, and build confidence together 🌱, professional learning becomes personal, joyful, and lasting. 🌺

I ended the day feeling inspired, grateful, and full of new ideas for future collaborations! 🚀💭 It was truly a day of learning, leading, and laughing together. 🥰✨

The Inquire–Plan–Act cycle has been such a practical framework. It reminded me that coaching is most powerful when it’s intentional and rooted in empathy.

The Inquire step stood out the most for me — it’s about listening with purpose, asking questions that uncover what really matters, and co-creating goals that are realistic and meaningful.

The Plan and Act steps then helped me translate those insights into action: structured yet flexible ways to support teachers without overwhelming them.

This unit also introduced me to the Coaching Library, a wonderfully detailed resource that helps me design learning experiences that are personal, creative, and sustainable.

💬 Reflections Beyond Technology

What I love most about Unit 2 is that it applies to any coaching setting — not just technology. Whether it’s curriculum planning, classroom management, or professional growth, the same principles hold true: listen first, plan with purpose, and act with compassion.

It’s a reminder that coaching isn’t just a skill — it’s a relationship. When teachers feel seen, supported, and confident, professional learning becomes personal, joyful, and lasting.

✨ A Thought to End On

Finishing Unit 2 has strengthened my belief that coaching is shared growth — for the coach and the teacher alike.

We learn, we reflect, and we move forward together.

Today marks a special step in my professional learning journey — I’ve completed Unit 1 of the Apple Learning Coach program and received my first badge! 🏅🍏

This first unit was truly about understanding who I am as a coach and as a learner. Through deep reflection, I discovered that my coaching philosophy centres on empowering teachers to take ownership of their growth. I believe everyone has the potential to succeed — sometimes they just need someone to ask the right questions and guide them to see their own strengths.

Unit 1 also reminded me how professional learning can be personal, creative, and collaborative:
