This was the thing I have been busy about all week! I am glad its over! I am glad the exhibition room was flocked with visitors! There were some things that can be done better, I know.

I am grateful there were many people who helped, Alhamdulillah. Thanks to the practicum teachers, Jazakallahu Khairan Kathira. Can't thankful enough.

First of all, I am not a fashion guru or any kind close to that. It's funny when trying to reflect back on the grooming class yesterday. With the knowledge and experience that I have combined with a small-scale research on the internet, I put together a presentation for my year 6 girls.

My intention was to get them to engage in an activity since post-exam in September 2011. However, I want the activity to have direct involvement with me so that I have a chance to spend time with them, getting to know them a little bit more before their departure for secondary school next year.

The materials I've gathered are suitable for their understanding. The medium is Bahasa Melayu. I don't want them to misinterpret everything I said or did. The class went well with some naughty thoughts and comments from the participants, well that's bring life to the class though... :)

In the middle of the class, while presenting I try to put myself in their shoes, trying to understand their needs and wants. I also find that by relating to my past experiences and revealing secrets which their parents might be embarrassed to tell make them feel at ease and able to capture their attention. Well some of those were not reflected in the slides, I'll leave it to your imagination. ;)

A little get away from the mundane exams revision for the year 6, I've asked them to do a scrapbook.

The scrapbook consisted of topics such as:

1. About myself
2. About my friend
3. Daily routine
4. Describing a man
5. Describing a woman
6. Things I want to buy
7. Places I want to go

The pictures for the scrapbook were self selected from the free NST copies donated to our school. Each pupils got a copy and they were given freedom to choose the pictures they wanted to use.

Phew! What a morning! Alhamdulillah, I've completed my task. Preparing a presentation on answering technique was not easy when you are not the examiner. Research needs to be done, soliciting tips from examiner, writing down what you already know, looking for the right questions to throw, preparing slides and the hardest of all capturing the audience interest in your delivery.

We had a great day at Asrama Desa SKSE today. Well I hope so, for those who managed to score a lollipop!

I find the participants rather a mixture of students. Some are quiet, some are talkative, extrovert, introvert. However, bravo to those who took part. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful evening! A proud moment for me as a chaperon, to see my student Nurul Nabila Nadia to be on stage for the third round. All the credit is for her as she studied the words by herself with me as her resource only.She got the word "traveller" and "disguise" right, unfortunately she misspelled her third word.

Knowing her, she would have known how to spell the word "mechanical" but as God intended she forgot. All in all, I hope the event did lift up her spirit, boasting her self-confidence and adding her value as a person. After her exit, there left 7 people on stage from 50 people.

It has a been a month since I have last updated my blog. It is okay I guess given the traffic... heee....

I didn't expect any! All I ever asked was good manners and good results. I've posted some of the Teachers' Day pictures on my facebook account and on the school facebook too. Feel free to browse through.


This year teachers' day was a lot of fun since I took part in the teachers' presentation. Here is the video, it is a cover of Valentine by Kina Grannis. I was backed up by my guitarist, Jamzulnazlim. He's awesome! Well, enjoy!

On the 21st January 2011, I launched a reading program to inculcate reading habits to the 5 Berjaya pupils. The program will last for six months until 30th June 2011.

The reading program will be conducted in this manner.

• Pupils will volunteer to read to teacher during class hour.
• The reading material must came from the text book.
• Only one reading session with one reading text is allowed.
• Every successful reading will travel from one major city to another.
• Pupils must complete 16 cities in 6 months.
• A passport will be issued to travel abroad when all cities are visited.

The objectives of the program are:
1) to inculcate reading habits among the pupils;
2) to instil discipline; and
3) to put the reading materials in the text book into meaningful use.

The assessment of successful reading includes the following:
1) able to decode words correctly;
2) good pronunciation and intonation; and
3) general good impression.

I sincerely hope that the pupils will take advantage of this program to improve on their reading.

I find reading is exciting and I hope to share this belief with them.
